Divisions
Accreditation and Staff Inspections Unit
The Accreditation and Staff Inspections Unit is under the command of the Assistant Chief of Police Administrative Bureau.
This division coordinates and assists in announced and unannounced inspections of all Departmental components to ensure
compliance with all standards mandated by CALEA, insures that all CALEA compliances files are up-to-date, serves as liaison
to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc., assists in the identification and development of new programs,
policy and procedures or acquisition of equipment to improve performance of the Department in compliance with applicable standards,
provides assistance to all departmental units to ensure clarification and continued compliance with CALEA standards and provides management
tools to the Chief of Police by conducting comprehensive review and analysis of departmental operations, procedures, personnel
and facilities.
Detective Division
The Detective Division is under
the direction of a captain who reports to the Assistant Chief of Police
Investigations Bureau. This division is responsible for the follow-up
investigation of Part I offenses, conducting the follow-up investigation of
other serious offenses and communicating with other law enforcement agencies to
exchange information pertinent to criminal activity. Providing crime scene
search and photographic services to all division and the management of property
in the custody of the Department.
Internal Affairs Divisions
The internal Affairs Divisions investigates police involved shootings, records registers, and controls the investigation of complaints against employees and maintains the confidentiality of Internal Affairs investigations and records
Office of Emergency Services /Communications Center
The Office of Emergency Services is under the command of a manager who reports directly to the Assistant Chief of Police Administrative Bureau. The Office of Emergency Services is responsible for providing the citizens of Little Rock with a Public Safety Answering Point for 9-1-1 communications, dispatching field support and informational services for all public safety agencies in the city, providing management in areas of planning, mitigation, response and recover, communications and multi-agency coordination of natural and man-made disasters within the city of Little Rock, maintaining all city owned radio communications equipment at a high level of operability and providing administrative and management direction for the Office of Emergency Services.
Patrol Divisions
The Downtown, Northwest and Southwest Patrol Division are each under the direction of a Captain, each of who reports to the
Assistant Chief of Police Operations Bureau. The Patrol Divisions are responsible for the deployment of forces consistent with the
needs of the City in order to maintain public order, provide preventive patrol, respond to calls for service and conduct investigations
of crimes and incident to include the arrest of offender and the coordination of police activities between the various geographic areas
of the City and the other Division of the Department.
Records Division
The Records Division is comprised of Data Entry, customer service, telephone report unit, work release, management research, crime analysis, information services, automotive/equipment coordinator, and the desk/court officers, under the direction of a captain who reports directly to the Assistant Chief of Police Administrative Bureau.
Special Investigations Division
The Special Ivestigations Division is comprised of the Narcotics, Street Narcotics, Special Narcotics, Vice and Intelligence Units under the direction of a Captain who reports to the Assistant Chief of Police Investigations Bureau.
Special Operations Division
The Special Operations Division is under the direction of a Captain who reports to the Assistant Chief of Police Operations Bureau. This Division is responsible for deployment and monitoring of the activities of the Motorcycle Unit, Tactical Unit Selective Traffic Accident Reduction Team, Airport Unit, School Resource Officer Unit, Hit and Run Investigations Unit and Mobile Community Oriented Policing Mobile Unit.
Training Division
Training Division is under the direction of a Captain, who reports to the Assistant Chief of Police Administrative Bureau.
The Training Unit is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive program of professional and technical training for
members of the Department by conducting classes and promoting training opportunities outside the Department. Recruit applicants for
officer and assist the City of Little Rock Human Resources Department with applicant interviews and testing and performing background
investigations of police applicants. The Conduct a comprehensive basic training program for police recruits. Ensuring departmental
compliance with the Rules and Regulations of the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training. The maintaining a firearms training
and qualifications program, weapons inspection, issuance of ammunition and maintenance of all Departmental shooting range equipment.
