The Amateur Softball Association is a volunteer driven, not-for-profit organization based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and was founded in 1933. This association has evolved into the strongest softball organization in the country. In 1978, the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) named ASA the National Governing Body of Softball, pursuant to the Amateur Sports Act of 1978. ASA now sanctions competition in every state through a network of 93 state and metro associations and has a membership of over 250,000 teams representing more than four million players and 60,000 umpires.
The Amateur Softball Association, District 9 is one of 12 districts in the state of Arkansas and represents the central Arkansas area.
