Latchkey After-School Program

This program provides youth with homework/tutoring, arts & crafts, recreational activities, sporting events, and other activities.

Freeplay/Activities

Patrons participate in pool, table tennis, basketball, exercise, walking, quiet games, volleyball, trampoline, foosball, fitness, TV/Movie Time. Some challenges will be held various times throughout the year.

Latchkey youth and others participate in the marathon training program to run 25.2 miles and complete their final mile on Kid's Marathon day, they also do other activities to promote health and fitness.

Movie - Mania

Youth watch various movies as an alternative. They may also bring their own movie with previous arrangements.

Arts & Crafts

Youth participate in various types of arts & crafts to include: plastic canvas, drawings, clay, painting, stitching, card making, beading, braiding, and making bracelets

Keyboarding

Youth will be taught the basic knowledge of music. They will learn a musical arrangement to be presented in a recital.

Computer

Youth will be taught the basic computer skills; they will also have the opportunity to showcase their skills.

Youth Recreation Laureate Program

Youth participates in various age group activities, to include Arts & Crafts, poetry, Fitness, Taekwondo, Swimming, field trips, movies, skating, and other on site and off site activities. There will also be a Showcase and a Fun Day at the end of the program.

Operation Holiday

Youth will participate in billiards, spades, checkers, basketball, jigsaw puzzles, relays, and other various activities

Madden Video Challenge

Youth will participate in a supervised tournament with the opportunity to be the Madden Champion.

Hershey Track & Field

Children participate in running, jumping, throwing events with the goal of participating in the National Hershey Track & Field Meet to be held in Hershey, PA. NOTE: Little Rock Community Centers had two youth to qualify for the State National Team in 2007.

Youth Soccer

Youth are taught the fundamental of soccer to include kicking, dribbling, passing and offensive/defensive strategy

Youth Baseball

Children are taught baseball techniques with emphasis on sportsmanship, competition, batting, base running, throwing, catching and defense. They are also taught discipline and proper game play.

Youth Softball/T-Ball

Children are taught softball techniques with emphasis on sportsmanship, competition, batting, base running, throwing, catching and defense. They are also taught discipline and proper game play.

Youth Volleyball League

Children are taught volleyball techniques with emphasis on sportsmanship, competition, ball handling, defense, and ball return. They are also taught discipline and proper game play.

Youth Jr. NBA/WNBA Basketball League

Children are taught basketball techniques with emphasis on sportsmanship, competition, ball handling, defense, and shooting skills. They are also taught discipline and proper game play. This league will provide the youth the opportunity to become involved in another National Program the National Basketball Association and the Women's National Basketball Association.

Youth Football League

Holiday Basketball Classic

Youth participate in a fun-filled tournament, to enhance their skills taught by various coaches.

Morning Hours Fitness/Saturdays

Activities: includes walking, jogging, exercises, aerobics, billiards, basketball, games and other activities.

Adult Basketball Freeplay

Adults participate in whole court basketball games and all community center rules apply for freeplay

Fitness and Physical Fitness Programs

Program includes Lifecycle, Cybex, Stationary Bike, Gymnasium, Walking/Jogging, Treadmill, Aerobics, and other activities. Most emphasis is placed on fitness as a lifetime activity.

Boot Camp Fitness

Intense physical fitness program: which includes weight machines, gym walking, calisthenics, and more.

Shape Up, Tone Up

High and low impact aerobics designed to enhance physical fitness and body composition, coordination, and balance.

Diversercise

Workout with a certified Instructor that has a high quality workout program that will get the cardiovascular system going.

Annual Volleyball Tournament

The tournament will include Men, Women, and Coed divisions, with teams from various states i.e. Arkansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. Also, there will be players that have competed on the National and Regional USAV Teams.

Senior Activity Center

Activity provide opportunities for senior adults to use their leisure time to travel, pursue old hobbies and learn new ones, increase their knowledge, socialize with friends or meet new ones, become physically fit and much more. Daily and weekly activities include ceramics, creative crafts, exercise, religious discussions, field trips, checkers, cards, dominoes, and other activities.
