Re-Entry Services

The Re-Entry Program assists residents that have been released from incarceration transition back into the Little Rock community.   The City of Little Rock Re-Entry Program provides services through contracts with community based organizations, to provide pre-release and employment placement services to our returning residents.  Pre-release services provided in this program will include enrollment, needs assessment, education, support groups, case management, and the development of individual reentry plans. Employment placement services provided include administering of career assessment, employment plan development, career training, job placement, case management services, and employment retention services.  The Sidewalk Program continues to provide training and employment opportunities to Little Rock residents with a history of convictions and incarceration.  The Sidewalk Program received the 2013 Arkansas Business City of Distinction Award for workforce development.  Since the implementation of the sidewalk program, we have developed and implemented the Re-Entry Employment Readiness Training Program through partnerships with several city departments: Public Works, Fleet, Little Rock Zoo, Parks and Recreation, and Housing and Neighborhood Programs.  Through this program, re-entering residents are provided training and employment opportunities within city government and the public sector.
