The Information Technology (IT) Department is a “service” department, providing critical data, communications and basic network infrastructure that enables other City Departments to deliver services directly to the citizens of Little Rock. The extensive, enterprise-wide voice and data network supports a wide range of City operations, such as delivering an emergency 911 call for help to a dispatcher, tracking fine payments and court appearances, collecting and analyzing budgets from each department, and processing paychecks to our employees. IT develops and maintains a network that reaches from a City Hall desktop, to a Police car cruising a neighborhood, to the cell phone in a building inspector’s hand or to its mobile user where ever they may be. The IT Department plays a critical role in enabling the City to meet the service expectations of our community now, and is constantly evaluating new technologies to enhance service delivery in the future.
