Notice to applicants for building permits concerning the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Upon the filing of an application for a Building Permit, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas is informing all applicants whose projects provide public accommodations that they must determine whether their project is subject to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Effective January 26, 1992, Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that when a public accommodation or other private entity undertakes the construction or alteration of a facility subject to the Act, the newly constructed or altered facility must be made accessible in compliance with the ADA Accessibility Guidelines which appear in the Code of Federal Regulations as Appendix A 28 CFR, Part 36.
