LR ANIMAL SERVICES HAVING PET FOOD DRIVE
Site will be at Kroger at Polk & Cantrell in Heights
(Friday, August 1, 2008) – Rising prices in fuel and other items is also affecting four-legged residents in Little Rock. Just as personal grocery bills are increasing, so are the grocery bills for Little Rock Animal Services.
To help alleviate this rise in costs, Little Rock Animal Services Manager Tracy Roark has announced that there will be a series of Pet Food Drives throughout the coming months. The first one is scheduled this Saturday, August 2, from 10am to 5pm. It will be held at Kroger in the Heights (1900 North Polk—the corner of Polk and Cantrell).
The “Pets to People” mobile adoption unit will be set up on the west side of the parking lot (close to Taylor Street). Animal Services staff and volunteers will be there to accept donations of food and treats for the dogs and cats which are located at the Animal Village.
“Normally when the mobile unit is set up in a parking lot, we are adopting animals out of it. This time, there will be no animals for adoption, but we will use it to store the donated items,” said Roark.
People wishing to visit the new Animal Village located at 4500 Kramer Street, can do so from 8am to 5pm every Monday through Friday. Additionally, the Animal Village is open for adoptions on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10am to 4pm.
