LITTLE ROCK GOVERNMENT TV CHANNEL TO BE OFF AIR TEMPORARILY

City Hall Repairs Necessitate Channel Shutting Down March 13-15, 26-29

(Little Rock – March 12, 2009) Due to repairs at Little Rock City Hall, LRTV--the City’s Government Access Channel will be off the air from 5pm on March 13 until 8am on March 16. The station will also be off the air from March 26 through the 29th.

Installation of a new air conditioning chiller at Little Rock City Hall will necessitate the suspension of programming.

“Because of the installation process, the cooling system at City Hall will be turned off. Without adequate cooling, the LRTV equipment will not function properly. Therefore, the station will be taken off-line,” said Bryan Day, Assistant City Manager.

“We know that people rely on LRTV for broadcasts of the City Board meetings and other City Hall programming. The City is appreciative of the loyal audience and apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause. We worked to make sure that any live broadcasts of City Board or Planning Commission meetings would not be affected.”

LRTV is Little Rock’s Government Access Channel. It is found on Comcast 11 south of the Arkansas River. The mission of LRTV is to provide residents of Little Rock with quality local government programming. To accomplish this mission, LRTV will air information regarding the many programs, services and opportunities made available by the City of Little Rock by providing access to the activities and process of their municipal government, via LRTV.
