Committees
The Little Rock Racial and Cultural Diversity Commission has served and continues to serve its mission in the following ways:
- Education Committee: To assist
educational institutions in Central Arkansas to share information and
work together on initiatives to promote positive race relations and
develop an understanding of other cultures.
- WorldFest Committee: This one (1)-day multicultural event celebrates our community’s diversity, offers
educational family-oriented activities, and provides a positive model of
valuing diversity.
- Fair Housing Committee: The
Commission engaged in an effort that created a Fair Housing Law,
"substantially equivalent" to Federal law, and the State Fair Housing
Commission, in order to strengthen our neighborhoods.
- Faith Alliance Committee: The Racial and Cultural Diversity
Commission’s Faith Alliance Committee is a standing committee
established in March 2003. It provides a vehicle through which
faith-based leaders throughout the community can pursue relationships of
increased understanding, mutual respect and cooperative involvement in
the pursuit of social justice and community transformation.
