For Kids
Central Arkansas is becoming an increasingly culturally diverse community, and its schools reflect
this growing trend. However, fears and misunderstanding lead to divisions between groups when people feel
threatened by those who are "different" from them. The Kids’ Section is focused toward helping youth to develop
and understand the importance of diversity and the many different cultures in our society, additionally the activities
will promote:
- An understanding that differences are OK and are needed to create the strong foundation upon which the United States is built.
- Information on the harmful impact of intolerance.
- A chance to see positive ways adolescents are dealing with diversity issues.
- A foundation for valuing the importance of diversity.
