2015 Summer Playground Program
Monday, June 8 - Thursday, July 30, 2015
Little Rock Parks and Recreation would like to welcome children and parents within the Little Rock area as prospective participants in our 2015 Summer Playground Program. The program’s objective is to provide for children ages 6-15, a rewarding, enjoyable and safe summer of supervised, organized and worthwhile recreational activities while school is not in session. We offer a wide range of activities and field trips.
The locations for the 2015 Summer Playground Program will be announced soon...stay tuned!
For the third year, we will also be offering a “Teen Camp” for participants between the ages of 11-15.
The non-refundable registration fee is $90 for the first child and $25 for any additional children from the same immediate family that reside in the same household.
These rates apply to children from the same immediate family within the same household

Activities & Field Trips
The Summer Playground Program on-site activities include: checkers, dominoes, chess, cards, board games, jump rope, basketball, kickball, movies, time outside on the playground, arts & crafts and many more. Field trips will include fishing, swimming, roller skating, movies, visits to the Stephens Nature Center, the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, the Clinton Presidential Library, the Museum of Discovery and an end of the year visit to Wild River Country.
All of these activities have discretionary participation. There are staff members assigned to remain at the playground for children who chose not to participate in the field trip activities. The only exception is the visit to Wild River Country, where the entire staff is needed for supervision. There are some field trips where we expect large participation, which will prevent us from transporting every child to each field trip. The supervisors at each of our playgrounds are asked to keep a record of which children are participating in each field trip, to ensure that all of the children have equal opportunities to participate if they choose. Buses, from First Student Company, will provide transportation for field trips. All other transportation is prohibited. There are additional admission and busing fees for field trips, and a schedule of all trips and associated fees will be distributed to parents upon registration.
